Hitotsume-Kōzō

Acrylic on canvas, 73 cm × 92 cm, 2025

A mischievous messenger of the invisible world, Hitotsume-Kōzō is a one-eyed young monk.

He watches with a piercing gaze—often deeper than it seems—yet never harms.

In this geometric interpretation, his single eye becomes a silent porthole, a skylight onto the uncanny. Ever-present black absorbs the contours, while cylindrical forms evoke the childlike naivety of this yōkai.
